CSC’s First Excursion of the Year: Beach Day

On 26 September, students from Grades 8 to 12 kicked off the school year with an unforgettable beach day excursion. This exciting outing combined team-building activities, hands-on learning, and environmental awareness, creating an enriching experience beyond the classroom.

Building Connections Through Teamwork

The day began with engaging team-building exercises designed to help students get to know one another while developing essential skills such as trust, collaboration, and creativity. Through interactive challenges, students strengthened their communication skills and built new friendships, setting a positive tone for the year ahead.

Personal Development and Anti-Bullying Awareness

In addition to teamwork activities, students participated in a personal development exercise centred around the theme of bullying awareness and prevention. This activity encouraged reflection, empathy, and discussions on fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Exploring Science and Timekeeping in Nature

The learning continued with a fascinating sundial-building activity, helping students grasp how the movement of the sun can be used to tell time. This hands-on project sparked insightful discussions about the Earth’s rotation and the history of timekeeping. Adding to the scientific exploration, our science teacher led a conversation on ocean waves, explaining how they form and their impact on coastal ecosystems.

Enjoying Nature and Giving Back

After an exciting morning of learning and problem-solving, students took a well-deserved break to enjoy a picnic lunch, taking in the fresh air and breathtaking ocean views. The day ended with a meaningful environmental initiative—an environmental cleanup, where students collected trash and reflected on the importance of protecting the environment and maintaining clean public spaces.

A Perfect Blend of Learning and Fun

This beach excursion was a perfect example of education beyond the classroom—blending learning, teamwork, and appreciation for the outdoors. Through hands-on experiences and collaborative activities, students not only gained valuable knowledge but also strengthened their bonds with peers, setting the stage for a successful and fulfilling school year ahead.
