The beginning of a new school year
The beginning of a new school year
A student’s perspective
By Patricia Tofan
The start of a school year is always nostalgic. As summer fades, taking with it the long sunny days, we look back and realise how fast time passes.
The start of the school year brings with it a sense of determination and ambition, empowering the students with motivation and a drive to succeed during their academic year. This beginning is characterised by a collection of emotions, ranging from excitement to eager anticipation, as students prepare to face new challenges.
For many students, the start of something new brings about questions and restlessness. They have to adjust to new classes, new teachers, new classmates, all of which might be quite challenging because they need to adapt to a new environment. However, all of these aspects are beneficial for their development, allowing them to improve their social and academic skills.
Younger students usually experience the joy and thrills of starting something new, while the older ones, such as the high school students advance to to the next level of they educational journey, while preparing for college. Every student must learn the importance of time management and try to be as productive as possible, in order to handle homework, assignments and additional projects. Furthermore, students should develop their organisational skills, set objectives and create their own schedule to help them achieve their goals.
Students should have time to be academically active, but should do a range of extracurricular activities as well. It is important that they make time to practice a sport, play an instrument or follow a passion.
While the start of the school year is filled with cheer and happiness, it can also be a source of stress and anxiety. However, no matter what, they always have the support of their families and teachers to push them forward and give them strength. Parents and teachers play an important role in a child’s development because they represent a constant source of encouragement and support.
Lastly, the new school year is a symbol of a fresh start, filled with the opportunity to learn, grow, become more mature and responsible and make timeless memories.
